2024 Election Results

Results of Our Hard Work Together!

We did not get every result we hoped for on Election Day, but there were several important wins to be proud of. We are thankful for the candidates across the country who entered the arena and expanded the electorate in the process. Those candidates advanced important conversations around expanding voting rights, protecting reproductive freedom, and passing much needed and delayed gun reform.

A Letter from BlackPAC Executive Director:

We share your anger and disbelief from last night. We share the sorrow and grief felt after seeing the prospects of progress dimmed. When offered the opportunity to move past the hateful rhetoric of the last decade, America stunningly opted to breathe new life into it.

We uniquely understand the potential consequences of another Trump administration — because he and his allies did not hide their plans. Using the military to quash peaceful protesters, bless police with blanket immunity to use violent force in our communities, and systematically dismantling our civil rights.
But last night, 86% of Black voters rejected this vision for America. We locked arms and once again attempted to stand in the breach between democracy and tyranny. We rebuked this vision because we know all too well this version of America. We recognized it in the Tea Party that rolled into the halls of Congress on the promise of stonewalling any legislative achievements of the first Black president, and again when this distorted version of America descended a golden elevator spewing hate.

We will continue to fight against this brand of America. Because we have to. Once again, we are called on to be the vanguard of freedom and democracy in America, but we cannot stand in the breach alone. When faced with the return to this violent American carnage, too many Americans acquiesced. But we will not give up on an America that is expansive enough for all of us. We will not give in to tyrants and dictators.

In the days and weeks ahead, BlackPAC will reach out to each of you to begin the process of planning how we collectively resist this lurch toward tyranny that threatens to yank our nation backward. We are truly all in this together and it’s time to prepare for a long fight for freedom.

We are with you in this mission. And we must renew our spirit through rest, embracing our families, and leaning on our community. We stand ready for this moment and we invite you to stand with us.

Onward,
Adrianne Shropshire, Executive Director
